TUTOR

AIC Kapsowar Mission Hospital is a 130-bed level five teaching and referral hospital based in Elgeyo Marakwet County about 80 km north of Eldoret. The hospital does 44,000 outpatient visits yearly and about 2000 operations yearly. The medical training college has a population of over 350 students. The hospital whose vision is to be a leading Christian institution providing efficient and affordable healthcare services seeks to recruit a Tutor

Duties and responsibilities

    1. Teach theory and procedures in each block as assigned including demonstrations skills.

    2. Evaluate student performance in class and in clinical placements.

    3. Assist students working in the wards to be successful in completing assigned learning criteria during each placement by liaising with clinical area staff/instructors/mentors.

    4. Supervise students in research project and in carrying out nursing case studies as assigned.

    5. Support faculty with the development and upgrade the objectives and competencies for theatre/clinical skills logbook and assessments

    6. Identify and assign appropriate perioperative and clinical activities and projects that are in alignment with the objectives and competencies for the clinical rotation to enhance student learning.

    7. Conduct assessment of the candidate during attachment as prescribed in the mentoring tool of the course/unit of competency.

Qualification and Experience

    1. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized University is mandatory. 

    2. Registration and licensure by the Nursing Council of Kenya 

    3. At least two years of teaching experience after your internship 

    4. Proficiency in information technology 

    5. Complete sympathy with policies, practices and purpose of African Inland Church and AIC Kapsowar Hospital.

    6. Teaching ability.
