To perform or oversee tasks in the constant upkeep and control of all maintenance records, including airworthiness data, fleet maintenance records and aircraft documents. Ensure the administrative needs of the AIM AIR Maintenance department are taken care of.

Job Description/Requirements

Job Location: Wilson Airport (AIM AIR Hangar)


KEY RESULT AREAS (Highlighted in bold)

NB: Under each KRA major duties are indicated

Providing Access to Accurate Airworthiness Data for the Fleet

  •  To adequately display, protect and archive all airworthiness data, aircraft documents and maintenance records, making current data readily accessible and orderly for the maintenance staff.
  •  To control the usage, reproduction and updating of all airworthiness data and maintenance records.
  •  To ensure the accuracy of the fleet records through a thorough double-check of time/cycle/date/expiry information and process Engine Trend Monitoring data.

Managing Airworthiness Data Subscriptions

  •  To monitor and renew airworthiness data subscriptions, inclusive of manufacturers and from relevant Authorities.
  •  Sending relevant updates (engine data etc.) to assure Airworthiness. Providing Timely Airworthiness Data Reports for the Fleet and Certification of Equipment
  •  To collect, analyze and report, in a timely manner, on new airworthiness data that is pertinent to the AIM AIR fleet.
  •  To update, monitor and report on maintenance records, maintenance task reminders, and fleet maintenance status.
  •  To communicate with appropriate maintenance staff members promptly, clearly and accurately about any issues pertinent to airworthiness data, documentation, fleet status, or maintenance records. Maintain Aircraft and Other Documentation in Accordance with Relevant Government Authorities
  •  To understand and work within all civil aviation regulations regarding maintenance record-keeping, aircraft documents and airworthiness data requirements, Approved Maintenance Organization requirements and certificate renewals.

General Departmental Administrative Support

  •  Enhance communication within the department, both in accurate recording of meeting minutes and overall record keeping/dissemination of critical directives and messages.
  •  Process intern applications and intake.
  •  Assist Radio Base in the renewal of radio licenses with Communications Authority of Kenya.
  •  Preparing other documents and letters as required.

Department Financial Administrative Duties

  •  Ensure timely payment to suppliers and statement reconciliations.
  •  Assist in month end processing including assistance in work order closing process.


NB: Any other duty assigned by the supervisor


Required Qualifications/Experience & Communication Demands

Qualification:

Essential

• Degree in Business Administration/management.

• Valid certificate of good conduct.

• Be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and computer literate enough to learn new programs as needed.

• Be able to type 50 words per minute.


Preferred/Desired

• Diploma in Business Administration/management.

• Knowledge in aviation technical documentation.

• Varied experience with manufacturer’s tech documentation support.


Experience:

Essential

• Successful completion of AIM Air initial training for the position

• Have at least 12 months experience in a professional aviation technical records role.


Preferred

• Two years aviation technical documentation experience.

Communication demands:

• Professional written and verbal communication in English.
