Main Purpose of the job

The Quality, Food Safety, Environment, and Safety Systems Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all processes related to quality, food safety, environmental compliance, and workplace safety are managed effectively and align with regulatory requirements and company standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining systems to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety, environmental stewardship, and occupational health and safety.


Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop, review and implement quality management systems (QMS), food safety management systems (FSMS), Occupational Safety & Health Services (OSHA), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Conduct regular quality, safety audits and inspections to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with operation teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation related to quality control, assurance and safety processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Implement and maintain food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
  • Conduct food safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations.
  • Train staff on food safety practices and procedures.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems (EMS) in line with ISO 14001.
  • Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation as required.
  • Develop and enforce occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Provide training and support to employees on health and safety matters.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in quality, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on quality, food safety, environmental, and safety performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all relevant processes and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with quality head and staff regarding performance metrics and improvement plans.
  • Stay current with industry quality & safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure that the facility complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
  • Develop, schedule and conduct technical training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills on quality management systems (QMS), food safety management systems (FSMS), Occupational Safety & Health Services (OSHA) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness.
  • Provide training to employees on quality & safety principles, processes, and procedures.
  • Promote a quality-oriented mindset and culture across the organization
  • Schedule and conduct regular audits, Identifying areas for improvement in the operation/ logistic process, safety and quality control/ assurance systems.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance safety culture and product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and projects.
  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and identify trends related to product quality and implement statistical process control (SPC) methods or any other to monitor and control production processes.
  • Lead and motivate the teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and quality and safety-focused work environment.
  • Communicate quality and safety-related information and expectations to all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address cross-functional quality and safety issues.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant lead auditor certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OSHA, EMS).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, environmental management, and/or occupational health and safety.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant quality management software.
