JOB SUMMARY
Location: Westlands, NairobiWorking days: Mon to FriWorking hours: 6pm to 3am TheStaff Accountant provides organized and detail-oriented professional servicesfor full-cycle accounting. The staff accountant provides support to thecorporate accounting department in preparing monthly and annual financialreports to maintain records which are related to the financial activities ofthe company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• G/L postings, fixed assets/depreciation, cost-centreallocations, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities support. • Balance sheet reconciliations and transactional reviewsupport. • Assist in monthly close process and financial statementpreparation. • Assist with preparation and responses for audits. • Bank Reconciliations • Process corporate AR transactions; including invoicing andpayment applications. • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly GL, AR, and Cashreporting. • Monitor and maintain the integrity of the GL accountingsystem, specifically the chart of accounts and subaccount list. • Correspond with banks and other agencies for issueresolution and responses to inquiries in a professional manner. • Update and maintain policies & proceduredocumentation. • Meet the contractual commitments to client(s) throughtimely and accurate reporting and issue resolutionSkills and qualifications - Hard and soft skills: • Strong English language skills, both written and spoken • Strong understanding and experience with accrualaccounting • Intermediate level of understanding and experience withMicrosoft excel, preferably with experience using pivot tables • Communicates effectively in individual or group situationsincluding demonstrating active listening skills. • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing,using accurate grammatical form, and able to read and interpret writteninformation. • Ability to coach and develop accounting team. • Ability to effectively interact with customer base andmaintain excellent customer relations. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Ability to work effectively with other internal andexternal departments. • Ability to work independently and as a team player. • Problem solving skills are mandatory as well as ability tomanage resources to complete team goals. • Excellent organizational and time management skills;strict attention to detail. • Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word and E-mail.
