Job Summary
Reporting to the Social Programs Manager, the Social Worker will Co-ordinate continuation of psycho -social care activities for the various KCH programs to restore lives, instill hope and shape the futures of the children under the umbrella of care of Kenya Children’s homes

Job Description/Requirements
Principle Duties
- Being the flag bearer of an efficient, effective, thorough and friendly continued care programs
- Recruitment of children that qualify to be supported under our programs by reviews of applications presented and make recommendations
- Liaise with government officials and community leaders to identify children in need of the interventions we offer.
- Be the counsellor and encourager to the children in areas such as academics, career choices and discipline.
- Implementation of support programs and interventions
- Identification of suitable institutions of learning and guardians to partner with in the care of children identified to be supported under the programme
- Continuous Exam analysis and submit report with recommendations.
- Networking with other homes / organizations in matters related to support of children under home based settings and boarding schools.
- Ensure CPIMS data is always updated.
- Advise the management on compliance with the Children’s act and other relevant laws.
- Advise management on best practice with regard to child care and protection.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Social Work.
- 2-3 years of Relevant experience in Social Work especially with vulnerable children.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft office packages Word and Excel.
- Advanced and well-developed inter-personal skills.
- Good team player, flexible and capable of working with variety of individuals from all walks of life.
- Practical, pragmatic person able to exercise initiative and sound judgement, who will work at every level to get the job done
- Familiarity with Care Reforms and CPIMS
- A solution orientated person.
- Attention to detail particularly relating to facts.
- Experience of developing, monitoring and reporting against agreed program plans.
