JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Site Engineer with 10 years of work experience and a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overall site coordination, managing contract documentation, performing site measurements, and ensuring quality control on construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to work in Kenya or with other sister companies within the East Africa region.Qualifications:Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.10 years of work experience in site engineering, with a focus on contract administration, site coordination, and measurements.Strong experience with contract drawings, BOQs, and site measurement management.Proficiency in managing and reporting on site progress and coordinating with consultants and other stakeholders.Ability to supervise workforce efficiency, ensuring high-quality standards and minimal resource wastage.Experience in guiding Quantity Surveyors on work scope and supporting valuation and variation processes.Familiarity with construction programs and the ability to evaluate project progress against the set schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage overall site coordination, ensuring smooth project execution and adherence to schedules.Perform parity audits of all drawings and Bills of Quantities (BQ), reporting any discrepancies to the contract coordinator, consultants, or head office. Cross-check and verify contract drawings and BOQs for accuracy.Complete site re-measurements of all work as it progresses and ensure measurements align with project requirements.Work diligently under the senior contract coordinator, following directions and providing assistance where needed.Liaise with the contract coordinator, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, and General Foreman on all aspects of site measurements, progress, and technical matters.Present daily/weekly/monthly site progress reports, presenting these during site meetings or inspections with consultants.Quantify bending schedules and compile site instructions/variation orders as needed.Report on actual progress against the construction program on a weekly basis to the Director In-Charge.Serve as the company’s representative to consultants on all technical matters pertaining to the project under your jurisdiction.Supervise the craftspeople on-site, ensuring efficient use of resources, high-quality work, and adherence to specifications.Implement proper contract administration procedures, ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of drawings and specifications.Guide the site Quantity Surveyor (QS) on the scope of work carried out each month prior to the submission of the valuation application. Advise on any variations, alterations, demolitions, or instructions issued by the consultants.Support the preparation of monthly valuations and the necessary backup documentation to support claims.Prepare comparative analysis of the consultant QS valuation against our application, including back-up documentation to explain any variances.Update site measurements records regularly to ensure accurate and complete documentation for final account processing.
