JOB SUMMARY

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and support business growth through strategic financial management. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting, with a proactive approach to internal controls and client relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities Accounting & Tax ComplianceMaintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Handle bookkeeping and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Prepare and file PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT, and other statutory taxes in compliance with Kenyan tax laws.Verify tax interpretations and practical applications, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation.Client & Relationship ManagementHandle client inquiries and provide financial advisory support.Conduct client office visits to strengthen relationships and understand business needs.Offer consulting and advisory services as required by the Director.Internal Controls & AuditingImplement and enhance internal control systems to mitigate financial risks.Conduct internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.Support due diligence processes and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities where applicable.Team & Business ManagementSupervise and manage internal finance staff, ensuring optimal performance.Contribute to business growth through sales and marketing support related to financial services.Assist with strategic financial planning and budgeting.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Finalist (Kenya).Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance, accounting, and tax matters.Strong understanding of GAAP and Kenyan tax regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).Preferred:Experience in internal auditing and implementing financial control systems.Knowledge of international tax principles (e.g., transfer pricing, interest deduction restrictions).Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Trello, etc.).Exposure to due diligence and M&A activities.Compensation & BenefitsGross Salary: KES 80,000 – 150,000 per month (subject to statutory deductions such as PAYE and social insurance).Probationary Period: 6 months.Additional Benefits: Business trip costs covered by the company.
