The Head Teacher will oversee the entire school, ensuring the seamless operation of both day and boarding sections. About the Client 

Our Client is a distinguished educational institution in Nairobi, Kenya, offering a comprehensive learning experience through its day and boarding facilities. The school encompasses a kindergarten, primary, and junior school, providing a nurturing environment for students from early childhood through to their formative years. 


Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement comprehensive academic programs and curricula for kindergarten, primary, and junior school levels.

    • Monitor and evaluate teaching methods and student performance across all levels.

    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality education and maintain academic standards.

    • Recruit, train, and supervise teaching and non-teaching staff for both day and boarding sections.    

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

    • Oversee student discipline and ensure a safe and conducive learning environment in both day and boarding settings.

    • Promote holistic development of students, including extracurricular activities and counseling services.

    • Address student and parent concerns promptly and effectively.

    • Ensure the boarding facilities are well-managed and provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

    • Oversee the welfare of boarding students, including their academic, social, and emotional well-being.

    • Coordinate with boarding staff to ensure high standards of care and supervision.

    • Manage the school's budget and resources efficiently.

    • Ensure compliance with educational policies, regulations, and health and safety standards

    • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of school facilities.

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, the local community, and educational authorities.

    • Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and community events.

    • Promote the school’s vision, mission, and values.

  

Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.

    • Must have an additional qualification with a diploma or higher in a management or relevant area

    • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a leadership role in a day and boarding school setting  with a population of more than 800 learners.

    • Must have a P1 qualification 

    • Must have an additional qualification with a diploma or higher in a management or relevant area.  

    • Proven track record of academic leadership and school management.

    • Strong understanding of the Kenyan education system and curriculum International curriculum will be an added advantage

    • Experience managing a multi-level school (kindergarten, primary, and junior school).

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and the community.

    • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
