Job Summary

The position holder will be responsible for handling GT customer accounts and build and maintain a strong relationship with the customers. The job holder will be the lead point of contact for all customer matters, anticipate the customer’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines are met. The sales manager will also bring in new business from existing clients or contacts and will develop new relationships with potential customers.

Job Description/Requirements

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the achievement of sales targets and expanding company’s customer base to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  •  Work with senior management to devise and implement innovative go-to-market strategies through researching and analysing trends in sales and consumer behaviour.
  •  Conduct market research across critical factors, understand industry-specific trends and landscapes and use them to bring new insights and solutions in order drive business success & operational efficiency.
  •  Challenge existing practices, processes, and procedures to identify new and better ways of working to accelerate the Company towards achieving its strategic outcomes.
  •  Build and maintain long-lasting strategic customer & market relationships, partnering with them to better understand their needs and how to deliver optimal value.
  •  Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposal.
  •  Take ownership of the company's revenue targets and formulate strategies to achieve and exceed them. This includes setting clear sales goals, creating sales plans, and monitoring progress regularly.
  •  Ensure achievement of volume/brand mix targets, availability and visibility within the GT Accounts to maintain and grow market share in the respective area of operation.
  •  Ensure effective management of the distributors and wholesalers of the respective area of operation.
  •  Develop and execute respective area of operational plan with recommendations of trade programmes/promotions in line with the general sales and distribution strategies to ensure the creation and maintenance of a competitive advantage against competitors.
  •  Maintain tight budgetary control over and strict adherence to credit terms in respective areas of operation.
  •  Negotiating contracts with the client and ensuring that valid JBPs are in place.
  • Inspire assigned teams to achieve strategic goals through regular communication and other forms of team engagement and motivation for them to become exceptional sales leaders across the company.
  •  Manage the performance of the sales teams assigned and ensuree they are clear on expected deliverables and that adequate resources are provided to enable them deliver sales targets.
  •  Prepare and submit all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on sales, revenue, market trends, emerging markets, and realistic forecasts to the relevant parties for consideration.
  •  Ensure that all customer complaints are assessed with the aim of preserving the company’s integrity and protect against undue liabilities and ensure that every deserving complaint is treated as high priority and escalated to relevant parties for follow through until resolved.
  •  Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field.
  •  At least 10 years’ experience across commercial functions in the Retail and FMCG industries with 5 years’ experience leading and managing large and diverse teams.
  •  Proven track-record of accurate forecasting, building effective teams, and putting the appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to drive growth within a high-growth company.
  •  Strategic thinking and orientation.
