Sales Executive
Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious sales professional who is ready to take on an exciting growth challenge and play a foundational role in building a high-performance sales team. This is a full-time opportunity to work directly alongside the company’s leadership as we scale operations. The successful candidate will be part of the core team responsible for driving revenue growth and shaping how our sales function evolves. You will not just sell, you will help build the engine.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
1. Revenue Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and actively pursue qualified homeowners and apartment residents
- Develop and execute daily prospecting strategies (referrals, partnerships, direct outreach, community engagement)
- Build and maintain a strong, consistent personal sales pipeline
- Meet and exceed agreed monthly revenue targets
2. Client Consultation & Needs Assessment
- Conduct structured consultations to understand customer needs
- Educate prospects on solar and backup power solutions
- Present clear, tailored proposals aligned to customer requirements
- Handle objections professionally and confidently
3. Lead Management & Conversion
- Follow up on leads generated through property managers and real estate partners
- Maintain disciplined follow-up cadence to increase conversion rates
- Track deal progress accurately through each stage of the sales cycle
- Drive opportunities through to closure
4. CRM & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity
- Track personal KPIs including outreach, meetings, proposals, and conversions
- Participate in weekly pipeline reviews and performance coaching sessions
5. Collaboration & Brand Representation
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure smooth handover post-sale
- Represent Solar Yetu professionally at all times
- Gather customer feedback to improve product positioning and sales messaging
- Contribute ideas to refine and strengthen the overall sales strategy
6. Ownership & Initiative
- Take full accountability for results
- Continuously improve personal selling skills
- Actively participate in training and role-play sessions
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and high performance standards
For this position, we are looking for exceptional individuals who meet the following criteria:
- MUST be fluent in written & spoken English, with a persona that matches that of the company brand
- Very hardworking and determined. Working in a start-up company in this field, will require lots of dedication and patience.
- Experience in sales is preferred. Experience in solar, construction, real estate, or technical solutions is an advantage but not required.
- High levels of personal accountability. Self-motivated, ambitious, and interested in growing with an exciting start-up company.
- Confidence and clarity in communication.Friendly and personable to build business relationships as the face of the company
- Emotional resilience and persistence
- Coachability and openness to feedback
- Professionalism and integrity. Must be very well presented, spoken and sociable, as the role will require networking and projecting the company in the premium segment of the market.
- Tech savvy; should be able to use a range of sales and automation tools. As part of the founding sales team, responsibilities may evolve as the company grows.
Salary structure: retainer & commission
