Job Summary

The Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. They ensure the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services to patients, manage staff, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Job Description/Requirements

1. Leadership and Management:

  •    Provide leadership and supervision to rehabilitation staff including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and support staff.
  •    Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient operation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  •    Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure professional development and productivity.


2. Patient Care Coordination:

  •  Oversee patient intake, assessment, and treatment planning processes.
  •   Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs.
  •  Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure documentation of services provided.


3. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  •  Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in rehabilitation services.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation to maintain accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and operational efficiency.


4. Budget and Resource Management:

  •  Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial performance goals are met.
  • Monitor and control expenditures for equipment, supplies, and staffing to optimize resources and maintain cost-effectiveness.


5. Staff Development and Training:

  •  Facilitate staff training programs and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee satisfaction.


6. Community and Stakeholder Relations:

  •  Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, caregivers, and community organizations.
  •  Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and committees to coordinate care and promote effective communication across departments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Rehabilitation Services, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Licensed or certified as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a rehabilitation management or supervisory role, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.


Working Conditions:

  • Typically works in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate patient needs or administrative responsibilities.
  • Directly supervises a team of rehabilitation professionals and support staff.
