The Promotion Manager will develop and execute innovative promotional strategies to enhance the visibility of the company's artists and music releases. This role requires a deep understanding of the music industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with media and influencers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
o Develop and implement comprehensive promotional campaigns for new releases, tours, and events.
o Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align promotional efforts with overall business objectives.
2. Media Relations:
o Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, including radio stations, blogs, podcasts, and magazines.
o Coordinate interviews, press releases, and media appearances for artists.
o Pitch stories and features to relevant media to maximize coverage.
3. Event Management:
o Organize and promote promotional events, including album launch parties, listening sessions, and artist showcases.
o Coordinate logistics for events, including venue selection, catering, and guest lists.
o Manage event promotion through social media, email newsletters, and press outreach.
4. Social Media and Digital Marketing:
o Develop social media strategies to promote artists and music releases.
o Create engaging content for various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
o Monitor online trends and adjust promotional strategies accordingly.
5. Collaboration with Artists:
o Work closely with artists to understand their vision and goals for promotion.
o Provide guidance on brand image, messaging, and audience engagement.
o Assist in developing promotional materials, including graphics, videos, and merchandise.
6. Performance Analysis:
o Analyze the effectiveness of promotional campaigns through metrics and feedback.
o Prepare reports on campaign performance, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
o Adjust strategies based on data analysis and industry trends.
7. Budget Management:
o Develop and manage the promotional budget, ensuring all activities are cost-effective.
o Track expenses and provide regular updates to senior management.
8. Team Leadership:
o Supervise and mentor junior promotional staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
o Encourage professional development and creativity within the team.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Music Business, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in music promotion, marketing, or a related field.
• Skills:
o Strong understanding of the music industry and current trends.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Proven ability to build relationships with media and industry stakeholders.
o Creativity and the ability to develop engaging promotional content.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, including SEO and email marketing.
• Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.
Work Environment:
This position may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate events and promotions. Occasional travel may be necessary for artist engagements and promotional events.
