Job Summary
The Project Officer will oversee and execute strategic initiatives across various university functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and particularly a U.S.-based Project Manager, ensuring seamless execution of initiatives through robust communication and strategic alignment.

Job Description/Requirements
Our client, an accredited faith-based university with a large potential for growth seeks to fill the position of a Project Officer.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, define scope, objectives, and key deliverables, and ensure smooth implementation.
• Collaboration with U.S.-Based Project Manager: Work closely with our American-based Project Manager to align priorities, coordinate timelines, and ensure seamless cross-border collaboration.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with university leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners to facilitate project success.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruption.
• Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure financial accountability.
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement structured workflows and documentation for project tracking, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to university leadership, prepare reports, and facilitate project review meetings.
• Technology & Automation Integration: Leverage digital tools and project management software to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure projects align with institutional goals, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Committee & Meeting Participation: Attend all university committees and meetings as assigned by the Vice Chancellor, ensuring that projects advance efficiently, decisions are documented, and accountability is maintained across initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
• Proven experience of at least 2 years in project management, preferably within higher education, non-profits, or mission-driven organizations.
• Strong collaboration skills with experience working across different time zones and cultures.
• Exceptional communication skills to engage with both local and international stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project) and strong digital literacy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.
