PROJECT OFFICER

Project Duration: 6 Months

Positions: 12 (6 Located in Mathare and 6 in Mukuru)

Purpose: To work towards the vision and mission of MSDP and contribute to the implementation of the following activities: emergency response through cash transfer, NFIs and hygiene promotion

Reporting to: Project Manager 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee recruitment of project participants

• prepare their monthly workplan

• Write detailed monthly reports in response to the work plan and submit it to the project Manager.

• Ensure day-to-day project activities are carried out according to workplan

• Field visits in informal settlements are required to monitor activities in person and support the quality of the project implementation

• Maintain project participants database

• Ensure that emergency response reach the targeted affected population

• Ensure pre-distribution data collection is conducted ethically and with integrity.

• Conduct needs assessment when needed

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Diploma in relevant field (social science, project management, Education etc)

• At least 3 years of experience as a community development work and working in the informal settlement.

• Experience working on Protection, rapid response or Livelihood programming is an added advantage

• Good MS office skills (Word, Excel, PPT)

• Excellent communication skills

• Flexibility and adaptability

• Ready to do field work in Informal settlement
