In Kenya, Earthtree grows new forests in a highly data-driven manner, supporting regenerative horticulture and agriculture projects that can restore ecosystems, bring back biodiversity, and support farmers with new sources of revenue. We support communities in achieving their land regeneration goals and engage with farmers and landholders to help them meet their land productivity goals.


Your responsibilities:


Data Collection and Preparation:

Gather and collect data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Cleanse, transform, and format data to ensure consistency and usability.

Develop data acquisition and data quality assurance processes.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Apply statistical analysis techniques to explore and interpret large datasets.

Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data to uncover insights and opportunities.

Perform advanced analytics, such as predictive modeling and segmentation, to support business goals.

Data Visualization and Reporting:

Create visually appealing and informative reports, dashboards, and presentations.

Communicate complex data findings and insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.

Develop interactive data visualizations to facilitate data exploration and understanding.

Business Intelligence and Decision Support:

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.

Conduct ad-hoc analyses and provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to drive operational improvements.

Data Governance and Compliance:

Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Establish data governance frameworks and best practices.

Maintain documentation of data processes and procedures.

Ability to travel to project sites if required for data collection and management.


Who you are:


At least 5 years of experience as a Project, Data, or Business Analyst.

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages.

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling.

Knowledge of data cleansing, transformation, and preparation techniques specific to forestry, agriculture, or horticulture data.

Ability to interpret and communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in the context of forestry, agriculture, or horticulture domains.

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders from various departments.

Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management principles is desirable.

Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms is a plus.
