Job Description/Requirements
JOB PURPOSE
The Press Operator is responsible for operating the Pellet Press Machine within the optimal conditions (OEE above 85%) to ensure production of quality and safe products as per the set product specification.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pelleting Process
Pelleting Feeds at 5mt per hour while ensuring zero reworks arising from non-adherence to the stipulated quality specifications.
Maintaining a PDI of above 85% for all pelleted feed.
Maintaining die change over at below 30 minutes
Reduction of variability on Key Performance Indicators (Power, Diesel Consumption etc...)
Safely cleaning and disinfecting pellet mill, cooler, crumbler and vibro sieve as per the standards and updating of records of the same.
Ensure adequate stocks of the critical spares at Gemba (Dies, bolts, nuts etc)
Boiler Operation
Ensure safe operations of the boiler to generate high quality steam.
Ensure blowdown procedure for boiler is done at six hours interval per day.
Ensure equipment efficiencies are enhanced (Power & Diesel consumption)
Reporting any abnormalities for timely correction to maintain performance
Safety Health and Environment (SHE), Food Safety & PaTaMu
Actively Participate in 6K, CI, SHE, FSMS/GMP /PaTaMu, activities in the respective sites.
Identify and report all quality and food safety issues during daily operations.
Understand and adhere to the established cross contamination matrix.
Any other assigned duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Science or any other Science related course.
At least two (2) years’ experience in the Food/Feed manufacturing industry.
Specific experience required: Good in computations/working with numbers.
Special skills required/disposition: Proficiency in computer applications.
Knowledge in Feed Safety - ISO 22000: 2018.
Knowledge in Lean manufacturing/Continual Improvement
Good communication skills
