Job Description/Requirements

  • Prepare health and safety strategies and developing internal policy to guide operations within  The client’s    
  • Carry out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced as relates to the safety of the organisation’s resources including people
  •  Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards
  •  Carry out regular site inspections to ensure that policies and procedures are being properly implemented and complied with
  •  Keep records of inspection findings and prepare reports outlining the outcome of inspections as well as proposed recommendations for remediation
  •  Make changes to working practices to ensure these are safe and comply with legislation
  •  In liaison with the human resource department, oversee in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
  •  Record incidents and accidents and prepare statistics report for management decision making  
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect  The client’s  industry;
  •  Ensure the safe installation of equipment in the production plant  
  • Manage and organise the safe disposal of waste and hazardous substances in compliance with current waste disposal requirements
  •  Advise other functions on different of specialist areas in health and safety including fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases 

Qualification,Experience& Skills

  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering
  •  At least 5 years demonstrated experience in plant maintenance
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of the beverage production industry
  •  Strategic and decisive,  
  • Excellent entrepreneurial and analytical skills
  •  Proven leadership skills and experience
  •  Demonstrated financial and people management skills
  •  Relationship building skills
  •  Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a high level of integrity and ethics
