We are a USA-based NGO preparing to launch impactful initiatives in Kenya. While we are still in the startup phase and do not have a physical office, our focus is on empowering communities in Kajiado, Makueni, and Machakos through innovative programs and sustainable development efforts. We are looking for a talented and motivated Digital Marketing Content Developer to help us establish our presence and tell our story as we grow.


Job Description

As a Digital Marketing Content Developer, you will play a crucial role in crafting our online identity, showcasing our projects, and engaging with our audience. Your hybrid role will involve developing digital content, maintaining online platforms, and creating impactful visuals, with occasional visits to project sites for on-ground coverage.


Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

• Develop and curate engaging content for social media, blogs, and newsletters to communicate our mission.

• Write compelling copy that resonates with our audience and inspires action.

Website Maintenance

• Assist in building and maintaining our website, ensuring it remains updated with project milestones.

• Optimize content to reflect organizational progress and achievements.

Photography & Videography

• Capture and edit high-quality field visuals, including photos and videos, to tell authentic stories.

• Produce visually appealing marketing materials aligned with our brand.

Digital Marketing Support

• Collaborate with the team to plan and execute digital campaigns that drive awareness and engagement.

• Track and analyze performance metrics to enhance our online strategy.


Deliverables & Metrics

Content Creation

Deliverables:

• 4 social media posts per week across designated platforms.

• 2 monthly blogs (500–800 words) showcasing programs or field stories.

• Monthly email newsletter drafts ready for review.

Metrics:

• Engagement rate (likes, comments, shares) on social media.

• Website traffic generated by blogs and newsletters.

• Newsletter subscriber growth.

Website Maintenance

Deliverables:

• Fully functional, updated website with the latest blogs and project updates.

• Monthly website performance reports.

• One-time SEO audit with recommendations.

Metrics:

• Website uptime (target: 99%+).

• Improved bounce rate and average session duration (Google Analytics).

• Number of project milestones added monthly.

Photography & Videography

Deliverables:

• 10 edited photos and 2 short videos (1–2 minutes) per field visit.

• A digital repository of categorized visuals.

• Quarterly visual storytelling campaigns highlighting key projects.

Metrics:

• Engagement rates on posts with visuals.

• Number of visuals utilized in campaigns.

• Audience feedback on storytelling content.

Digital Marketing Support

Deliverables:

• Monthly digital campaign plans with defined goals.

• Biweekly performance reports (reach, impressions, CTR).

• Optimization recommendations based on analytics.

Metrics:

• Campaign ROI (if applicable).

• Audience growth across platforms.

• Achievement of campaign-specific goals (e.g., donations, registrations).

General

Deliverables:

• Weekly progress updates to the team.

• Quarterly self-assessments and reviews.

Metrics:

• Timely submission of deliverables.

• Feedback from supervisors and stakeholders.

• Measurable contributions to organizational objectives.


Requirements

• Proven experience in content creation, photography, and video editing.

• Proficiency in tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge of website platforms like WordPress or Wix.

• Strong communication skills with a passion for storytelling.

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NGOs or startups.

• Diploma in Digital Marketing or a related field.

• Knowledge of SEO, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
