Position Overview
The Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership for the Mustard Seed House Tenwek facility, ensuring that the campus operates effectively, safely, and with excellence. This role oversees a diverse hospitality ministry team, including groundskeepers, maintenance staff, cleaners, cooks, and security personnel.
The Operations Manager serves as the manager on duty for the campus and is responsible for maintaining high standards across facility operations, staff supervision, service delivery, and team culture. This person helps create an environment where patients and caregivers are welcomed with dignity, practical care, and the love of Christ.
This role combines elements of operations leadership, hospitality management, staff supervision, quality control, and ministry presence. The Operations Manager works closely with the broader Faith Aid team to ensure that Mustard Seed House Tenwek is clean, orderly, well-maintained, and prepared to serve families during difficult seasons of life.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Campus Operations
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for the Mustard Seed House Tenwek campus
- Serve as the manager on duty and respond to daily operational needs and challenges
- Ensure the facility is clean, safe, organized, and fully operational
- Oversee the effective functioning of housekeeping, cooking, maintenance, grounds, and security operations
- Monitor the condition of buildings, equipment, and grounds, and coordinate repairs and upkeep as needed
- Help ensure the campus remains welcoming, functional, and prepared to serve patients and caregivers with dignity
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise and lead a diverse hospitality ministry team, including groundskeepers, maintenance staff, cleaners, cooks, and security personnel
- Provide clear direction, accountability, support, and encouragement to team members
- Help train and develop staff in line with Faith Aid’s mission and standards
- Foster a culture of teamwork, ownership, excellence, and Christ-like service
- Motivate staff to deliver high-quality work and hospitality on a consistent basis
- Address performance concerns and operational challenges in a timely and constructive manner
Standard Operating Procedures & Quality Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for campus operations
- Ensure staff understand and follow established procedures and expectations
- Monitor quality across departments and identify opportunities for improvement
- Promote consistency, efficiency, and accountability in day-to-day operations
- Help build systems that support sustainable growth and operational excellence
Hospitality & Guest Experience
- Help ensure that patients and caregivers experience a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Support the delivery of high-quality hospitality services across the campus
- Work closely with other Faith Aid team members to ensure guests are cared for with compassion, dignity, and attentiveness
- Address operational issues that may affect the guest experience
Administration & Coordination
- Maintain organized records related to operations, maintenance, staffing, and procedures
- Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational planning
- Coordinate with other Faith Aid departments to support ministry effectiveness and campus needs
- Support reporting, communication, and documentation related to facility operations
Ministry & Spiritual Care
- Participate in devotions and ministry activities
- Model Christ-like compassion in daily interactions
- Support a ministry environment in which practical service and Gospel witness go hand in hand
Teamwork
- Work closely with Case Coordinators, Chaplain, Finance Officer, and other Operations staff
- Collaborate with Faith Aid leadership to strengthen the effectiveness of Mustard Seed House Tenwek
Required Qualifications & Ministry Commitments

Professional & Educational Qualifications
- A clear and active personal faith in Jesus Christ
- Demonstrated experience managing people and leading teams effectively
- Experience in hospitality management, healthcare operations, facility operations, or a related field strongly preferred
- Management experience in the hospitality industry or healthcare industry is strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. A diploma in a relevant field combined with substantial management experience may be considered in place of a degree
- Experience overseeing staff in areas such as housekeeping, food service, maintenance, grounds, or security preferred
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining standard operating procedures
- Proven ability to motivate a team to deliver high-quality work and service
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Emotionally resilient and able to work in a demanding environment serving families facing illness and hardship
- Comfortable in a Christian ministry environment, including prayer and spiritual conversations
- Willingness to work irregular hours and be available on call during nights and weekends in response to urgent operational needs
