OPERATIONS MANAGER (LOGISTICS)
Job summary
Our client, a shipping and logistics agent providing import and export solutions, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong logistics background. The role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and shipment consolidation, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and timely service delivery
Job descriptions & requirements
- Oversee all logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and shipment consolidation
- Ensure smooth coordination of all operational activities from cargo receipt to final delivery
- Monitor operational performance and ensure service delivery standards are met
- Plan and manage cargo consolidation to optimize space utilization and reduce operational costs
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely processing and dispatch
- Ensure efficient utilization of transport resources and schedules
- Supervise warehouse activities including receiving, sorting, storage, consolidation, and dispatch
- Ensure accurate handling and movement of goods within the warehouse
- Maintain proper organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiency in warehouse facilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate operational staff to achieve productivity targets
- Ensure staff adherence to company procedures, policies, and standards
- Assign duties and monitor performance to ensure accountability and efficiency
- Liaise with clients, transport providers, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain strong communication to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Handle operational queries and ensure timely responses to client concerns
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping of all goods
- Maintain proper tracking systems for inbound and outbound shipments
- Ensure all operational documentation is accurate and up to date
- Prepare and present operational reports and performance insights to management
- Track key operational metrics including efficiency, turnaround time, and cost performance
- Recommend improvements based on operational data and analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure adherence to operational best practices across all functions
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–4 years’ relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, or cargo consolidation
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role is required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational ability
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and operational accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
