Job Summary
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in supply chain planning, production and excellent financial analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Primary tasks include preparation of seasonal production estimates, organizing the planning of all merchandise to Retail and Wholesale dealers, depots and Company Retail stores according to the orders forwarded from the Sales channels, organize production for the Export channel customers, according to the order schedule from the Export Department.

Job Description/Requirements
An opportunity has arisen to support the production planning aspects of our client’s organization, in the FMCG sector of a Planning Manager. As the successful candidate, you will be the liaison person between the Supply Chain Functions and the Commercial/Sales Departments. He/She will translate market needs into feasible production plans while observing lead times and machine utilization capacity to ensure product availability and of desired quality.
Key responsibilities
1. Collaborate with sales, marketing, production, and procurement teams to gather accurate demand forecasts, align supply plans accordingly and ensure timely and cost- effective sourcing of raw materials and components.
2. Monitor and analyze inventory levels, sales patterns, and production capacities to identify potential supply chain bottlenecks and develop mitigation plans.
3. Ensure that the deliveries from the factories are correctly accounted for against production planning control statements.
4. Ensure that loading of all conveyors is according to machine and people capacity.
5. Liaise with Product development to monitor position of new development moulds.
6. Alert merchandisers before delivery to warehouse of pilot production, to ensure that quality is regularly checked and bad quality eliminated.
7. Liaise with Engineering department to monitor progress for timely insertion into production of new articles.
8. Ensure that the Open to Buy (OTB) plan for Retail concepts is executed in the season, efficiently and on time.
9. Ensure that production freeze is timely and that reports are availed to the relevant departments on a timely basis.
10. Review the sale/stock position of NOOS (Never Out of Stock) articles with a view of making planning changes as desired.
11. Implement and utilize advanced planning tools and software systems to enhance planning, accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics or even technical/production engineering, in
- addition a master’s degree in a relevant area will be an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of working experience; five (5) of which must be within a busy, fast- paced manufacturing/FMCG setting in a similar role.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and or a certificate in financial modelling would be an added advantage.
- Requisite skills in supply chain management, number-crunching, planning and data analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
