Maintenance Manager

Organizational, Functional, and Strategic Leadership

• As part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), participates in organizational decision-making, development of organizational strategy and strategic objectives, creates and communicates a vision and fosters an inclusive organizational culture.

• Reports to the General Manager on relevant continuous improvement plans necessary for the plant based on tracking plant statistical performance, root cause analysis, and production data.

• Reports the General Manager on necessary procedures to be implemented to reduce operation and maintenance costs.

• Develops the requirements of stakeholders and clients.

• Plays a key role in establishing and managing organizational governance, resource stewardship, team coordination, accountability, and risk management.

• Prepare and/or review reports as specified in the relevant contracts and recommend changes in plant operating procedures.

Plant Maintenance and Continuous Improvement

• Ensures that all operating procedures are strictly enforced and that routine inspections and verifications are completed in line with them.

• Collaborates with the GM and Financial Officer to prepare and execute the annual plant maintenance plan, maintenance capital, and operating budgets.

• Provides schedules for normal operating periods, planned and forced outages, to the plant maintenance team and contractor personnel.

• Prepares the department's annual budget, procurement plans, and work plans.

• Develops and implements an emergency work plan for transmission line and substation asset failures to ensure real-time supply restoration.

• Prepares preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

• Manages all maintenance functions and collaborates with the Operations Manager in scheduling plant overhauls.

• Provides the Continuous Improvement Program for the maintenance team by improving and updating maintenance procedures, maintenance manuals, drawings, and vendor equipment bulletins.

• Coordinates and conducts performance, functional, and surveillance testing of plant systems and components. Evaluates equipment failures and assists with Root Cause

Analysis to prevent reoccurrence.

• Compares data with established standards and interprets it with respect to component wear, malfunction, and the necessity for repair or replacement.

• Identifies and actively seeks to improve operations and maintenance to provide operational reliability and availability, maximize equipment life, and provide detailed feedback to the General Manager.

• Sets annual performance KPIs for the team at the beginning of each year, and conducts performance appraisal and feedback at least twice per year in formal sessions with each team member and results shared with HR for recording.

Maintenance Resources and Supplies Management

• Ensures the availability and timely ordering of critical spare parts and any required tools to enable O&M functions.

Health and Safety

• Advises and ensures compliance with occupational health, safety, and electrical safety standards.

• Works with the plant maintenance staff to ensure the plant facility and equipment are maintained in safe and efficient operating conditions at all times.

Team Leadership

• Sets and maintains the maintenance qualification and training standards for personnel.

• Provides coaching, training, and development opportunities for the maintenance team.

Desired Competencies

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered Engineer with Engineering Body
• 10+ years of progressive technical experience in power plant or marine maintenance
• Medium speed diesel experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills
