What’s the role?

As the Maintenance Discipline Engineer PACO (Process, Automation and Control Optimization), you will report to the Maintenance Manager and shall deliver support and services in collaboration with the Asset Team and Modification Team to achieve safe, effective, efficient and reliable production. This entails delivery in Operational Excellence in strong continuous improvement culture in HSSE, asset integrity, production, minor projects pre-decision gate, Simplified plant change and cost leadership.

Key Accountabilities

  • Compliance with Legal requirements and Shell standards
  • Secure asset integrity and reliability
  • RRM Analysis (RCM, RBI, SIL, etc)
  • Relevant Performance Standards
  • Give input to and carry out, internal discipline audits according to assurance plan. Attend internal and external audits, e.g. from authorities
  • Contract management per Category Management & Contracting Process (CMCP)

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain maintenance strategies, procedures and instructions and discipline documents as stated in SEAM (Management system)
  • Maintain and optimize asset register and maintenance program, including spare parts evaluation, SCE’s and Performance Standards to ensure the long-term reliability of the facility in accordance with the business plan
  • Input to Asset Care Plan and associated Business Planning and Maintenance Budget
  • Assess risks associated with deviations in accordance with the deviation process
  • The Discipline engineer is responsible for input of own installation activities (according to IAP procedure and Work Instruction) into the Integrated Activity Plan (Medium and Short Term) as soon the activity is identified. This includes PM activities
  • Discipline approval of chemicals and evaluate substitution
  • Attend incident investigations

Discipline Specific Responsibilities

  • Field Instrumentation, temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, level
  • Fire & Gas detection, smoke, heat, gas, flame
  • Environmental Monitoring, temperature, pressure, humidity, wind
  • Instrumented Protective Functions (IPF) and SIL (Safety Integrity Level)
  • Turnaround support, planning, preparation (including risk assessment), execution
  • Metering systems, both sales & environmental metering and process measurements (flow/quality/composition) according to NPD requirements

Key Dimensions

  • Contract Owner and Holder of relevant operational contracts within discipline
  • Have an active role in operation / maintenance teams and responsibility for assigned tasks within the discipline
  • Collaboration with other disciplines as well as contractors
  • As Discipline Engineer PACO you will report and inform operator of Nyhamna in accordance with ‘Nyhamna Samarbeidsprosedyre”

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor (BEng) degree or Masters (MSc) degree in Engineering
  • Proven delivery of Goal Zero HSSEQ target in Production Management
  • Significant or relevant experience within process control & automation systems in maintenance and brownfield modifications
  • Good knowledge of and experience with industry standards such as NORSOK and IEC
  • Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex environments
  • Self-driven and strong finishing capability
  • Seek and understand assets priorities and adapt continuously
  • Good verbal and written communication in English and Norwegian (Norwegian Language is required). This includes writing technical documents as well as presenting results concisely to internal and/or external audience
  • Exhibits a strong sense of curiosity, adaptability, resilience, ownership, collaboration skills and drive for continuous learning and improvement
  • Excellent leadership capabilities and behaviours in line with Shell’s Leadership Framework and agile leadership principles
