Job Description
The Aga Khan Academy Nairobi is operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), a non-profit organization, with close to a hundred years’ experience operating schools in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, process laboratory samples, and release accurate results in a timely manner following established procedures. Participate in maintaining and monitoring quality assurance measures, including internal quality controls and proficiency testing, to ensure accurate and reliable results. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Maintain detailed records and archives of laboratory procedures, test results, and other relevant data. Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Stay abreast of new developments and advances in medical laboratory techniques and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities. Ensure compliance with regulatory and standard requirements to sustain laboratory accreditation status.The requirements
Higher National Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution Minimum of three years working experience in a busy medical laboratory Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an added advantage. Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board. A current practice license is mandatory. Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Important Safety Tips
