Job Summary: The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks in a laboratory setting. This role involves conducting experiments, preparing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
● Sample Preparation and Analysis: Prepare, handle, and analyze samples according to established protocols and procedures. Conduct tests and experiments using laboratory equipment and techniques.
● Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.
● Data Management: Record, analyze, and interpret experimental data. Prepare detailed reports and documentation of laboratory activities and results.
● Quality Assurance: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure accurate and reliable results. Assist in maintaining laboratory certification and accreditation.
● Inventory Management: Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents. Order and restock materials as needed, ensuring proper storage and handling.
● Collaboration: Work closely with other laboratory staff and researchers to support ongoing projects and experiments. Provide technical support and assistance as required.
● Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
● Education: Associate’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
● Experience:3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting. Experience with [specific techniques, equipment, or industry] is a plus.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, and centrifuges. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous.

● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and present findings.
