You will be joining a bold team consisting of leading engineers, operators, and entrepreneurs hailing from companies that include Tesla, Apple, Google, SRAM, Ola Electric, Dott, LiveWire, Lucid, Bolt, Microsoft, SafeBoda, Sun Mobility, among many others. Zeno has just closed its seed round with Lowercarbon, Silicon Valley’s leading climate tech venture fund, Toyota Ventures, the VC of the world’s largest automotive company, and 4DX Ventures, a leading early-stage investor in Africa.The RoleZeno is seeking a dynamic and experienced Kenya Technical Product Lead to oversee the performance, servicing, and field engineering of Zeno's electric motorcycles across Kenya. This role will manage a team of Technical Product Specialists, ensuring the highest standards of product reliability, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Product Specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and customer focus.Field Engineering Oversight: Lead field engineering activities, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and the implementation of technical solutions to optimize motorcycle performance.Service Operations: Oversee the servicing and maintenance strategies for Zeno’s electric motorcycles, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of technical issues.Product Performance Monitoring: Analyze field data to monitor product performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.Technical Support: Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, providing hands-on support and expert guidance to resolve critical problems.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, engineering, and operations teams to provide feedback from the field and influence product enhancements.Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs for the technical team and key stakeholders to ensure deep technical knowledge and service capabilities.Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to improve service delivery, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of technical activities, service metrics, and product performance insights to inform strategic decisions.What You Bring:5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles within the automotive, electric vehicle, or related industries.Strong background in field engineering, product servicing, and technical support for electric motorcycles or similar products.Proven ability to manage and develop technical teams, with excellent leadership and people management skills.Expertise in diagnosing complex technical issues related to electrical systems, battery technologies, and mechanical components.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.Passion for sustainable energy, electric vehicles, and driving positive environmental impact.Fluency in English and familiarity with Swahili is a plus.Willingness to travel extensively across Kenya to support field operations and team development.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience plus employee stock option poolCompany sponsored healthcare plan.Join a world class team of engineers, operators, and entrepreneurs from across the globe who are part of the inevitable trillion-dollar transition of two-wheelers to electric!
