Job Summary
The main purpose of this role is to apply engineering principles to solve problematic areas within the ICT communication field. The engineer will deliver technical solutions, provide high-quality technical support, and ensure user satisfaction. Responsibilities include IT and network design, engineering, implementation, migration planning, service design, optimization, and customer training. The role often requires on-site work during critical project phases.

Job Description/Requirements
Work Relationship:
Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with users and vendor technical management/teams.
- Produce IT implementation and migration plans.
- Produce High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) with the best architecture to support command center services.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, CCTV/TV Wall Surveillance, Access Control, and Wireless Network (Wi-Fi).
- Summarize and explain troubleshooting cases.
- Pass required exams and attend necessary training.
- Maintain good communication and relationships with users.
- Willingness to travel for long periods away from base.
- Roll out and complete acceptance of new IT/UC products.
- Provide 24/7 standby support for onsite/remote assistance as required.
- Share technical case experiences and lessons learned.
- Manage Network Video Nodes (NVR) and CCTV end nodes.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Specialization:
- Electronic/Computer Engineering or Telecommunications.
Certifications:
- ITIL, COBIT, or Service IT Management Certification.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as:
- Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, HCIA-BigData, SQL, Java, DevOps, HCIA-Storage, HCIA-Cloud, HCIA-Cloud Service.
- CompTIA Cloud+, Cisco CCNA Cloud, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect, or higher.
Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in:
- IT and cloud technologies.
- Strong experience with Huawei, Cisco, or Juniper products.
- Basic knowledge of TV Wall, IP PBX, Unified Communications, IP Phones, SIP protocols, and architecture.
- Managing basic maintenance of computer endpoints, anti-virus, operating systems, printers, and IT infrastructure.
- IP network design, deployment, and NMS (Network Management Systems).
- Core network commissioning and acceptance testing (under guidance).
- Network management and Operation Support Systems (OSS).
- Managing end-users and communicating closely with command center staff.
- Experience in virtualization (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V), containerization, cluster management solutions, and cloud technology landscape.
Competency Requirements:
- Must be committed and able to interact at all levels.
- Perform other duties as required.
Working Environment/Conditions:
- Computer-based working environment.
- Standby duties are required.
Remuneration:
Salary Range: 50,000–80,000 KES per month.
