A. Internship SummaryGIZ Kenya seeks an enthusiastic and motivated IT Intern to support our Information Technology department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working alongside professionals on various IT projects.The IT Intern will support our in-house IT department in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, assist with the implementation of new technologies, and provide training and support to team members.He/She will assist our IT team with day-to-day operations by providing technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing new applications, maintaining system documentation, and learning about network infrastructure, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Intern has the following duties & responsibilities assigned:Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer systems and networks.Provide first-line technical support to GIZ staff, resolving issues related tocomputer hardware, software, network connectivity, and email access. Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems,including operating systems and applications. Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and escalate criticalalerts to the IT team. Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to hardware, software, and networkconnectivity. Update and maintain IT documentation, including user guides, system diagrams, andtroubleshooting procedures. Contribute to IT projects by performing tasks such as data entry, testing, andimplementation. Support the IT team in implementing software and hardware solutions.Participate in the setup and configuration of IT equipment and software for staff.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends through research and training opportunities.Help ensure IT security protocols and best practices are followed.A.
