Capacity Spring Africa Consultants is a duly registered Human Resource Management and Training firm based in Eldoret. Our goal is to be the leading Management Consultancy and Training firm in Africa by promoting sustainability of businesses through entrenchment and strengthening of good corporate governance and training systems.

We have been retained by a group of tea factories in West of Rift to recruit a suitably qualified audit firm to provide Internal Audit Services.

Key responsibility:

Reporting to the Board through the Audit and Risk Committee, the successful firm shall be responsible for providing independent and objective evaluations of the factory’s financial and operational business activities. It shall ensure that the company follows proper procedures and functions efficiently. The internal audit firm shall be guided in carrying out the responsibilities by the internal audit policies set out by the Board.

Reporting lines:

Functionally: The Board

Administratively: The Factory Manager

Role of the Internal Auditor

To provide insight into the company’s policies, procedures and general operations. The main role to aid the board and management through oversight by verifying internal controls such as operating efficiency and effectiveness, risk mitigation and compliance with relevant existing laws.

a) Ensure that the board and Management and other relevant stakeholders are fully and regularly informed of the outcomes of internal audit’s work.

b) Facilitate the work of external auditors by providing them with information they may require i.e annual audit work plans, management letters, system documentation and any other necessary information.

Job Specifications

Interested firm must possess the following qualifications:

a) Must be an audit firm duly registered with actively practicing partners of good standing with their respective professional bodies.

b) Lead Auditor(s) must be a registered member(s) of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and in good standing.

c) Must demonstrate the ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data and compile detailed reports within specified time limits.
