ROLE SUMMARY
The Insurance Agency Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of the agency, driving business growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional client service. This role requires a results-driven leader with deep insurance industry knowledge, strong people management skills, and a commitment to ethical business practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve sales and growth targets
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the agency's market presence
• Promote the agency's services through marketing initiatives, networking, and client engagement
• Oversee the hiring, training, and development of agency staff
• Conduct regular staff meetings to keep the team motivated, informed, and aligned with business goals
• Monitor agency performance and develop improvement plans where needed
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospective clients
• Handle high-level customer complaints and issues, working to resolve them without litigation
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts
• Ensure compliance with all insurance laws, regulations, and procedures
• Stay informed on changes in insurance products and policies through close collaboration with partner companies
• Maintain accurate records and uphold high ethical standards in all transactions
• Manage the agency's budget and financial operations, including forecasting and reporting
• Oversee the use of insurance management software and CRM systems to streamline operations
• Ensure day-to-day operations run efficiently and align with overall agency goals
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is an added advantage
• Professional certification in Insurance (such as ACII or IIK) is an added advantage
Experience
• At least 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with 3 years in a management or leadership role
• Proven experience as an Insurance Agency Manager, Insurance Sales Manager, or in a similar leadership capacity
• Solid understanding of insurance laws, regulations, and procedures
• Experience working with insurance management software and CRM systems
