Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Officer (HRO) to join our team in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role is essential in fostering a positive work culture and driving effective HR operations within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating onboarding activities.
Conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive onboarding experience.
Employee Relations:
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Mediate and resolve employee conflicts and grievances in line with company policies.
Performance Management:
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the performance management system.
Support managers in conducting performance appraisals and identifying employee development needs.
Policy Compliance and Legal Requirements:
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in Kenya.
Maintain and update HR policies in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
Training and Development:
Coordinate training programs and employee development initiatives to enhance skill sets and improve productivity.
Identify training needs and opportunities for career growth and development.
Compensation and Benefits:
Administer payroll, employee benefits, and compensation packages.
Address employee queries related to payroll and benefits.
HR Administration:
Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, attendance, and leave records.
Prepare HR reports and metrics to support management decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a similar HR role.
Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
