Job Summary
The HR Specialist - Employee Relations will be responsible for driving the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure fairness and equity in labor practices. This role involves offering guidance in the development of employee relations policies, ensuring consistent application including dispute resolution procedures, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. The role holder will also focus on capacity building for colleagues and management to apply procedures consistently.

Reporting to: HR Shared Services Partner
Business Unit: Human Resources Department

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire Employee Relations process end-to-end, ensuring fair labor practices.
- Enhance productivity through effective design and implementation of employee relations, disciplinary measures, and grievance procedures.
- Continuously evaluate and monitor labor practices for relevance.
- Design and conduct management training on the legal aspects of employment.
- Coach and mentor line managers on the Employee Relations policy and compliance.
- Maintain and review collective bargaining agreements, ensuring alignment with HR and management teams.
- Participate in collective consultations and negotiations, providing expert advice to management and stakeholders.
- Ensure policies and processes align with business needs while maintaining statutory and legislative compliance.
- Lead Union and consultative committee communications and formal processes such as dispute proceedings.
- Work closely with HR Officers and HRBPs to manage ER and disciplinary cases consistently, ensuring compliance and engagement.
Academic Background & Professional Knowledge:
- Relevant degree and registration as an HR professional.
- Post-Graduate certificate in Employment Law.
- 3-5 years’ experience in HR, with at least 3 years in Employee Relations.
- Thorough understanding of the Employment Act and related legislation.
- Knowledge of contemporary employee relations dynamics, case law, labor legislation, trends, and trade union matters.
- Ability to understand the labor environment and ensure compliance with relevant statutes.
- Skills in policy legislation, compliance, and change management.
