Job Description/Requirements
TIS is seeking to recruit the following positions
1.Key Stage 1 and 2 Homeroom Teachers
- English & Literature
- Math & Any Science (Biology or Chemistry)
- Kiswahili/History
2.School Nurse
The candidates must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate high levels of integrity & professional ethics as well as possess innate love for the students.
Job Position 1 – Key Stage 1 and 2 Homeroom Teachers
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in accordance with the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum and school policies.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments in accordance to the Cambridge Curriculum
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement targeted interventions to support individual learning needs.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and challenged to achieve their best.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through effective communication, collaboration, and partnership.
- Promote the social, emotional, and personal development of students by creating a conducive environment for learning, inculcating positive behaviour, encouraging resilience, and nurturing a growth mindset.
- Maintain class discipline and good behaviour among the students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events to contribute to the school's wider community and continuous improvement.
- Participate in administrative and organizational duties as appointed by the head of curriculum.
- Ready to take up a class teacher role.
- Any other duties assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- A Bachelor Degree in Education (English & Literature) from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Cambridge Curriculum.
- Well conversant with Cambridge Curriculum and Assessments
- Experience in other co-curricular activities such as Sports, Drama, Music, Art and Clubs is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Computer skills more so MS Office Suite packages
- Must be very creative in coming up with various ways to keep the students engaged
- Keen attention to detail, proactive and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Job Position 2 – School Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and sudden illnesses that occur during school hours.
- Administer medications brought to school by the students according to prescribed dosages, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Work closely with school administrators to create and maintain emergency response plans for health-related incidents.
- Ensure that the school is equipped with adequate first aid supplies at all times.
- Maintain and update student health records, including allergy list and underlying health conditions in accordance with privacy laws and school policies.
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and disease prevention.
- Promote healthy practices through campaigns, workshops, and one-on-one consultations, fostering an understanding of health and wellness among the school community.
- Assess and monitor the physical and emotional health of students, referring them to specialists or additional resources when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student health concerns.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- Diploma in Nursing
- 3-4 years’ experience, preferably in a school environment
- Keen attention to detail, proactive and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
