Head of Stock Control (Kitale)

a)Inventory management

● Develop and improve inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels.

● Monitor inventory levels and adjust stocking policies to meet business needs.

● Implement inventory control systems and technologies to track stock movements.

b)Stock Analysis

● Analyse stock data to identify trends, forecast demand and improve stock control and processes.

● Generates reports on stock levels, turnover rates and stock values.

● Use data analytics to optimise inventory management.

c)Procurement Coordination

● Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely and cost effective ordering of stock.

● Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.

● Manage purchase orders and stock replacement processes.

d)Warehouse Management

● Oversee the storage and distribution of goods within the warehouse.

● Ensure proper stock handling and stock handling to maintain product quality.

● Implement warehouse management systems to improve efficiency.

e)Stock Audits

● Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.

● Develop and implement procedures to minimize stock losses and shrinkage.

● Ensure accurate record keeping of inventory transactions.

f)Supplier Relations

● Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure reliable stock supply.

● Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to optimise costs.

● Monitor supplier performance and address any issues.

g)Systems Management

● Utilise inventory management systems to track and control stock.

● Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the inventory system.

● Train staff on the use of inventory management systems.

h)Team Leadership

● Lead, train and develop a stock control team to enhance their skills and performance.

● Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.

● Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Education:

        ◦ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

          

2. Experience:

        ◦ Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, stock control, or a related field, preferably in a hardware or retail environment.

        ◦ Proven experience in leading and managing a team.

3. Skills:

        ◦ Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and software.

        ◦ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

        ◦ Effective negotiation and communication skills.

        ◦ Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
