Position Overview
The Head of Marketing & Digital Transformation at Itisha Kenya is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering the company’s marketing strategy and driving digital innovation to support business growth. As the custodian of the company’s brand, the person will craft and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that resonate with the target audience, enhance customer engagement, and increase market share. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering data-driven marketing results and leveraging technology to optimize marketing operations and customer experiences. The individual will be at the forefront of integrating digital solutions, ensuring that Itisha Kenya's products and services remain competitive and aligned with emerging market trends.
In addition to leading marketing efforts, the Head of Marketing & Digital Transformation will drive the company’s transition to a digitally enabled organization by integrating cutting-edge technologies into operations, customer service, and product offerings. This entails fostering a culture of innovation, identifying opportunities for digital enhancement, and collaborating across departments to deliver seamless, omnichannel customer experiences. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on implementation, requiring a deep understanding of marketing trends, customer behaviors, and emerging digital tools. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure that Itisha Kenya remains at the forefront of innovation in both marketing and digital transformation. With a dual focus on marketing excellence and digital transformation, this role is extremely instrumental in achieving Itisha Kenya’s vision of delivering efficient, reliable, and customer-centric solutions through its innovative super app platform.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and vision.
- Digital Transformation Strategy: Lead the digital transformation journey by identifying, integrating, and scaling digital tools and technologies to enhance business processes.
- Brand Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of a strong brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and communications.
- Data-Driven Marketing: Utilize analytics to monitor campaign performances, optimize strategies, and provide actionable insights.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing and digital transformation team; hence, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Content Creation and Management: Oversee the creation of compelling content across various channels, including social media, blogs, email campaigns, and mainstream advertisements.
- Customer Experience (CX) Innovation: Drive initiatives to enhance the customer journey through digital solutions. Also lead projects to integrate AI, ML, and automation into customer engagement platforms.
- Marketing Technology (MarTech) Adoption: Select, implement, and manage advanced marketing tools such as CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and marketing automation solutions. Ensure integration between these marketing tools and other business systems for seamless operations.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget in collaboration with the finance department, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI.
- Product Knowledge and Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Maintain deep knowledge of Itisha Kenya’s products and services to effectively communicate their value to stakeholders.
- External Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement: Identify, negotiate and secure partnerships with key industry stakeholders (partners, media, and vendors). You will also represent Itisha Kenya at industry events, conferences, and thought leadership forums in a bid to enhance brand presence and drive engagements to the brand.
- Market Research and Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies to keep Itisha Kenya innovative and customer-focused.
- Drive Product Growth – Act as a product champion, educating stakeholders and customers about Itisha Kenya’s offerings. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to existing clients.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as MBA or similar and relevant professional certifications advantageous.
- Work experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in marketing, with at least 4 years spent in a senior leadership role.
- Strategic thinking & leadership: Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to align marketing and digital initiatives with overall business goals. Also proven leadership capabilities, including team building, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Technical proficiency: Expertise in digital marketing tools, platforms, and analytics, including but not limited to Google Analytics, CRM software, marketing automation tools, and social media management systems.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable strategies. Equally be highly proficient in measuring and optimizing campaign performance using data and KPIs.
- Creative vision and innovation: A creative thinker who can drive innovative marketing campaigns and digital solutions that resonate with target audiences. Be able to stay ahead of trends in marketing and technology, identifying opportunities for the company to lead in its industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of crafting compelling messaging and presenting to stakeholders at all levels. With strong interpersonal skills, you should be able to seamlessly work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Adaptability and problem-solving ability: Capable of navigating a dynamic startup environment, addressing challenges proactively, and responding swiftly to operational issues.
