About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and passionate General Manager to lead our vibrant hotel in the heart of Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD).

You will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel's operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving profitability, and fostering a strong team culture.


Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the entire hotel operation, aligning with the company's vision and mission.
  • Oversee all departments, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, and Maintenance
  • Develop and implement annual operating budgets and marketing plans, achieving revenue and guest satisfaction targets
  • Implement effective yield management strategies to maximize room occupancy and revenue.
  • Ensure the highest standards of guest service, cleanliness, and safety throughout the hotel.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate clients, travel agents, and local businesses.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and implement innovative strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage all aspects of financial reporting and ensure adherence to Kenyan legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to guest concerns and complaints, implementing successful service recovery procedures.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible leadership roles within the hospitality industry, preferably in a similar sized hotel.
  • Proven track record of success in achieving financial targets, increasing profitability, and exceeding guest satisfaction goals.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, revenue management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kenyan hospitality regulations and safety standards.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Kiswahili is a plus.
