JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Accountant,the GL Accountant ensures delivery of overall departmentobjectives in line with overall company goals.The position ensures that the highest standards of quality and integrity are observed in the bookkeeping process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Preparation and analysis of monthly divisional motor vehicle expenses report.● Posting of monthly analyzed divisional motor vehicle expenses.● Establishing the cost of sales from work in progress accounts and posting to the relevant general ledger accounts.● Preparation of monthly stationery consumption reports.● Reconciliation of G4S Kenya Limited inventory, including preparing of a monthly inventory depreciation schedule in line with Allied Universal accounting requirements.● Conduct and supervise quarterly inventory stock takes as per approved instructions.● Reconcile the quarterly inventory variances.● Maintaining reconciliation for accrued expenses and revenue accruals.● Maintaining a file for approved manual journal vouchers for all accruals.● Ensuring timely reversals of the accruals.● Maintain a detailed prepayment schedule.● Ensure all transactions in interdivisional accounts are cleared hence maintaining a zero balance.● Ensure monthly posting of the recurring transactions.● Ensure rent payments are prepared, approved and paid on time in line with the various agreementsbetween G4S Kenya Limited and the various landlords.● Produce various reports in line with the group deadlines and other deadlines as may be set from time to time.● Ensure that the Group accounting procedures and principles are correctly applied● Support the annual audits by providing reports, listings and any other supporting documents as may be requested by the internal auditors.● Formulate and ensure adherence to all company internal controls, financial policies and accountingprocedures.● Payment preparation to KRA withholding tax on professional fees, consultancy management fees,contractual fees etc in line with the regulatory requirements● Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and acommitment to quality.● Propose and implement any initiatives that aim to improve productivity working on providing accountinginformation at both the financial information system level and the information flow level.
