Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Finance, Budget, and Reporting Intern to join our dynamic team at Palla Credit, a leading microfinance institution in Nairobi. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting within the microfinance space.

  • Minimum Qualification : Bachelors
  • Experience Level : Internship & Graduate
  • Experience Length : 1 year

Job Description/Requirements

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
  • Support the budgeting process, including the development of budget forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Help monitor and track financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in financial audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the team in various finance-related projects and tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide financial insights.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Requirements

Education:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • CPA II and above


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to generate financial models


Experience:

  • Previous internship or work experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is a plus but not required.


Other Requirements:

  • Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 4 months for the internship.
  • Availability to work full-time.
