Reports to: Commercial Controller
Function / Sub Function: Finance Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Scope & Dimension of the Role
The Finance Analyst monitors the Commercial KPIs, strengthens the commercial and financial controls; and reviews all the commercial spends of the region. The role holder updates commercial policies, credit limits and norms and ensures that it is adhered to in the East Africa region. The role holder interacts primarily with the market commercial (sales, marketing and supply teams). In addition to this, the analyst will be in constant contact with RB customers to ensure smooth reconciliations of statements, receipt and adherence to payment plans and processing of customer claims.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Ensure monitoring and effective operation of
o Commercial KPIs
o Marketing Spends against Plan
o Trade Spends against Plan
o Stocks levels at DB
o Stock reconciliation
o DB audits
o Sales Returns and disposals
o Price grids & product costing
o Receivables balances
- Suggest and implement ROI improvement in Trade and Marketing initiatives
- Conduct Pre and Post evaluation of Consumer and Trade Promos
- Ensure timely completion and submission of Financial Plan and Forecast for the East Africa region
- Ensure coordination with internal and external Audit for commercial function
- Submit timely and accurate reports to the senior management with key analytical inputs (like ROI enablers) for effective decision making regularly
- Management of accounts receivables
- Carry out annual DB ROI review and suggest improvements to DB to ensure better profitability
- DB Management including receivables, claims and all other DB related items
- Price list management: Ensure correct price lists are provided to customers, sales team and captured in RB systems
- Liaison with the commercial team to ensure all DB outstanding items are close in time and in full
- Product cost updates and management in RB systems
- Conduct annual DB Audits for all DB’s in EA region
Competence Required
- Strong Analytical skills
- Expert in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, advanced formulas, Data Tables and Financial modelling
- Strong and effective communication skills with ability to present and participate in cross functional meetings with senior management
- Strong drive to outperform and distinguish themselves from peers
Professional Qualification & Experience
Professional qualification/Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting with relevant experience in industry (0-2 years)
