The field officer will work closely with the farmers and Persea Oils and Orchards Organic Program manager to organize the avocado programme in various regions of the country.

Job Title: Field Officer (4)
Department:: Compliance
Reports To: Compliance Manager
Responsibilities
- Registration and contracting farmers: Enroll farmers into the organic programme.
- Conduct mobilisation and sensitization forums for farmers, partners and value chain actors.
- Visit farms/farmers/farmer groups on a regular basis to follow up and track the implementation of projects.
- Prepare weekly reports and monthly reports to the project management in a timely manner.
- Inspection of farms and training of farmers on various certification requirements i.e. Organic Standards, Global gap.
- Training farmers on good agricultural practices.
- Harvesting and coordinating related field activities e.g. Sample collection.
- Prepare work plan on required field activities
- Any other tasks assigned by the senior management for ensuring smooth delivery of the project
Requirements:
- Diploma / BA / BSc in Agriculture/horticulture (agronomy related course)
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field
- Good knowledge of fruit farming
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Integrity.
- Creativity and work results orientation.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Willingness to work in dynamic and rural settings
