Fiber Planning Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct feasibility studies, detailed field surveys, design, and implementation of backbone, branch, and access distribution fiber cable links.
• Prepare and validate bill of quantities for project proposals and regional relocation or rehabilitation projects.
• Ensure all project proposals conform to the company's standards and master plan.
• Plan and procure materials for ongoing fiber optic cable (OFC) related projects.
• Develop master plans for fiber networks (backbone, metro, and access).
• Provide technical support to regional planning offices and manage network drawings database.
• Assist in vendor evaluation and technical support for fixed access network projects.
• Coordinate the acquisition of wayleaves from relevant authorities and inspect ongoing projects.
• Manage contractors, evaluate contracts, and track survey and implementation cases for timely project completion.

Skills & Competencies We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fiber network planning and design.
• Proficiency in fiber optic cable systems, including troubleshooting and design principles.
• Experience with wayleave acquisition.
• Proficiency in using MapInfo, Google Earth/Map, AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant tools.
