Farm Worker

Key Responsibilities:

° Soil Preparation: Prepare fields for planting by tilling, fertilizing and setting up drip irrigation systems

° Planting and Transplanting: Assist in planting onion seeds and transplanting seedlings as required

° Irrigation Management: Operate and maintain the drip irrigation system, ensuring adequate water supply to the crops

° Crop Maintenance: Perform regular weeding, and other crop care activities to maintain healthy growth – Monitor crops for signs of diseases and pests infestation and report to supervisors for prompt intervention

° Harvesting: Helps in the harvesting of onions, including lifting, sorting and packaging for sale storage

° Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all farm tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use. - Report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervisors

° General Farm Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the farm, - Assist with construction and repair of farm structures as may be needed

Qualifications

° Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not mandatory

° Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods

° Basic understanding of crop care and irrigation systems

° Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

° Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team

° Strong attention to details and commitment to producing high quality crops

Working Conditions:

° Full-time position with hours varying depending on the season and weather conditions

° Work involves physical activity, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods

° Exposure to outdoor elements such as sun, rain and wind
