Fides Kenya Ltd, part of Dummen Orange, is a leading company in growers and exporters of fresh cut flowers from Kenya to international markets. Fides Kenya operates under the trade name Dummen Orange. At present Fides Kenya Limited operates on 22 hectares where the Chrysanthemums, Geranium, Perennials, Osteospermum, Asters and filler plants cuttings are grown. Our workforce has grown over the years to the current level of about 1000 employees. We are located 29 km south-east of Embu town and 169 km north-east of Nairobi, approximately 50 km south of Mount Kenya.

Our farm in Embu is looking to fill our vacancy for Head of Department Exports & Logistics. Our Fides farm is located 28 km south of Embu town and 125 km north-east of Nairobi and this position comes with serviced comfortable housing on-site.Role: Head of Exports & LogisticsAs a leader, are you ready to lead our logistics and exports department, whereby you play a pivotal role in steering and overseeing the smooth operation of supply chains, shipments, transportation, and logistics for the organization, both internally, locally and internationally? RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Tasks:• Lead and define team responsibilities and workload distribution.• Define performance metrics and ensure high-performance standards.• Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.• Set departmental and personal objectives and evaluate periodically.Logistics and Transport:• Coordinate shipments and oversee export processes.• Optimize internal transportation.• Manage budgets and resolve issues promptly.Cooling, Storage, and Packing:• Maintain proper cooling and storage.• Implement quality control measures.• Manage inventory efficiently.Shipping and Communication:• Comprehensive liaison with freight agents and Dümmen Orange back-office.• Manage budgeting, procurement and ensure cost effective operations• Communicate with clients, external and internal teams.Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:• Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations.• Lead compliance efforts.Documentation and Compliance:• Manage export-related documents.• Verify accuracy to prevent delays.Education:• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.• 5-7 years of experience in logistics and export management in a similar role.• Expertise in international shipping, customs procedures, and trade regulations.• Budget management and procurement experience.• Proven leadership in a cross-functional environment.• Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management tools.• Familiarity with cooling, storage, and packing procedures for perishable goods.Personal Qualities• Displays confidence, assertiveness, and a proactive attitude.• Is reliable, accountable, operates with integrity and is attentive to detail.• Thinks critically and approaches challenges analytically with a disciplined mindset.• Demonstrates cordiality and professionalism in interactions and gets the job done.• Willingness to independently verify information, avoiding sole reliance on reports from others.What we Offer• Opportunity to operate on a global platform and lead a local team to growth.• Supportive and collaborative environment, focused on personal and professional development.• Chance to develop into an SMT position and make a lasting impact.• Attractive package, with competitive compensation and benefits.Why Join Us?Dümmen Orange has major international ambitions with innovation technology and quality high on the agenda.
