Zeno has just closed its seed round with Lowercarbon, Silicon Valley’s leading climate tech venture fund, Toyota Ventures, the VC of the world’s largest automotive company, and 4DX Ventures, a leading early-stage investor in Africa.The RoleZeno is seeking a motivated Energy Technician to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of Zeno’s energy network in Kenya. This role will work closely with the Energy Infrastructure team to ensure the efficient installation and maintenance of EV charging stations and battery swap infrastructure
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You’ll Do:Site Assessment Support: Assist in evaluating potential locations for Zeno’s energy infrastructure, including basic electrical load assessments and site suitability checks.Installation Assistance: Aid in the installation, connection, and commissioningof EV charging stations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical guidelines.Technical Support: Help troubleshoot and test charging infrastructure to maintain smooth operation.Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on EV charging and battery swap equipment.Documentation: Maintain records of installation activities, equipment status and site conditionsWhat You Bring:Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.Strong mechanical skills with hands-on experience in motorcycle maintenance, repair, or assembly is a must.Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.Willingness to learn fast about electric vehicle technology and battery systemsSelf-starter mentality with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Willingness to travel to various sites across Kenya.Benefits:Be part of a world-class team driving the clean energy revolution.Competitive salary based on experience.Huge opportunities for career growth.
