Job Summary
The Electrical Technician and Mechanical Technician under the guidance of Electrical and Mechanical Leader will carry out electrical and Mechanical installation, servicing, repairs of plant and machinery in order to ensure that they operate in a reliable, efficient, safe, and sustainable manner. Experience in manufacturing industry is a must.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ELECTRICIAN
· Electrical Service of machines as and when necessary including major electrical overhauls. Troubleshooting, repair and restore defective/ trouble plant & machines.
· Carry out electrical Preventive maintenance activities on all machines and control panels as per the preventive maintenance schedule.
· Attend to emergency breakdowns and report all breakdowns to unit leader and/ or engineer.
· Ensure efficiency in attending to breakdowns that will ensure minimal machine downtime.
· Participate in new plant installation and commissioning.
· Liaise with the electrical unit leader and raise store requisitions for required materials and spare parts.
· Participate in planning and execution of preventive maintenance work and other maintenance activities.
· Ensure that electrical materials and spares taken out of the stores are used for the intended purpose.
· Carry out maintenance and safety inspections.
· Liaise with team leader to write safety work permits for predetermined work classification.
· Prepare periodic reports for the electrical section and submit to the electrical unit leader.

· Mechanical Service of machines as and when necessary, including major Mechanical overhauls and troubleshooting, repair and restore defective/ trouble plant & machines, motors, pumps systems etc.
· Carry out Mechanical Preventive maintenance activities on all machines and equipment’s as per the preventive maintenance schedule.
· Attend to emergency breakdowns and report all breakdowns to unit leader and/ or engineer.
· Ensure efficiency in attending to breakdowns that will ensure minimal machine downtime.
· Participate in new plant installation, commissioning, TPM Activities and Continual Improvement Projects.
· Liaise with the Mechanical unit leader and raise store requisitions for required materials and spare parts.
· Participate in planning and execution of preventive maintenance work and other maintenance activities.
· Ensure that Mechanical materials and spares taken out of the stores are used for the intended purpose.
· Carry out maintenance and safety inspections.
· Liaise with Unit leader to write safety work permits for pre-determined work classification.
· Prepare periodic reports for the Mechanical section and submit them to the Mechanical unit leader.
POSITION SPECIFICATION.
Academic Qualifications:
· ‘O’ Level (minimum C-)
· Diploma in Electronic Engineering
· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Qualifications: To be a Registered Engineer
Experience:
At least Four years working experience as electrician in a manufacturing plant.
At least Four years working experience as Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing plant
Skills:
· Technical knowledge of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering
· Technical knowledge of production machinery
