Key Accountabilities

• Operate company-owned trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations.

• Facilitate the Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing and safe handling of goods.

• Follow transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards at all times.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and report any issues or maintenance requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries made. Transport & Logistics Supervisors

• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status.

• Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, if applicable.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including vehicle maintenance and appearance standards.

• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering goods in a timely and professional manner. Principal Outputs/Key Performance Indicators

• Percentage of deliveries completed on time as per the schedule.

• Number of deliveries completed per day or week.

• Fuel efficiency in terms of miles per gallon or liters per kilometer.

• Track of accidents, incidents, and violations to ensure a safe driving record.

• Escalation of vehicle maintenance issues to ensure safe and reliable transportation.

• Adherence to transportation laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Accuracy and efficiency of loading and unloading cargo.

• Accuracy and completeness of mileage logs, fuel consumption records, and delivery documentation.

• Daily utilization of carrying capacity.

• Daily availability of carrying capacity.

• Number of trips per month per track category.


Competencies & Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in the distribution industry.

• Valid PSV driver's license with appropriate endorsements.

• Proven experience as.

• Good driving record with no major violations or accidents.

• Strong knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.

• Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and equipment.

• Excellent navigation and route planning skills.

• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• K.C.S.E certificate or its equivalent.
