Deputy headteacher (Primary School - Machakos)

The successful candidate will assist the head teacher to develop and implement CBC, liaise with Ministry officials and advise the school Directors on academics and standards necessary to grow and develop the school.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure compliance with all laws, board policies and government regulations
2. Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsible behavior.
3. Supervise in a fair and consistent manner effective discipline and attendance systems with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school.
4. Ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
5. Provide proper management and inspire teamwork among teaching and non- teaching staff.
6. Ensure all-inclusive stakeholders’ interests are catered for. Stakeholders include the school board, students, parents, neighbors, suppliers, and the ministry of education.
   
7. Control school expenditure for optimum expenditure and effectiveness.
8. Ensure security and good custody of school assets.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Holder of Diploma in Education. Higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
• 3+ years’ experience as a primary school teacher. Experience in management is essential.
  
• Must possess leadership skills to foster teamwork, develop and motivate staff, resolve conflict and have ability to provide direction to the staff and students.
