Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Country Training Manager to join our Team. As the Country Training Manager, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of training programs for our field staff and sales agents across the country. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our agents and staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet their KPIs towards measurable business outcomes . This position will require extensive travel within the country.

Job Description/Requirements

Ideal Profile:

The ideal candidate should be of mature age based in Kenya with a proven track record of learning and development experience. The candidate should also be well in designing, managing & implementing pilot programs. His/Her CV should be able to track activities in line with: project management, data analysis, team management, stakeholder management, training monitoring & evaluation, business acumen, organizational change management. Relevant Industries: Renewable energy or certification in the same, Bank orMFIs (previous understanding will support in understanding the sales & collection expectations, FMCG, Solar Company, NGO, Telcos


Responsibilities:

● Strategic alignment - Foster a collaboration with EBD sales leaders and strategic stakeholders to ensure new and existing training programs are aligned with current and future business goals.

● Support /Agent loyalty - Ensure continuous agent skill development throughout agents job cycle with strong emphasis on the onboarding training and mandatory training. They should be

● Training Program Development: Develop comprehensive training programs and materials for field staff and sales agents, including product knowledge, sales techniques, collection practices and customer service skills.

● Training Delivery: You will be required to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions with field staff and agents and also audit and ensure continuous improvement of the training delivery of Regional mentors in various locations across the country, ensuring consistent delivery of training content and adherence to Training standards.

● LMS Management: Ensure proper understanding and administration of Sun King’s learning management systems, increasing user activity and engagement through the deployment of engaging content for staff, agents, cleaning up and aligning team data when required.

● Onboarding and Induction: Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new field staff and sales agents with regional mentors, providing them with the necessary knowledge and tools to perform their roles effectively.

● Training Needs Assessment: Identify training needs and gaps within Sun King through regular assessments and feedback from field staff, sales agents, and other departments and develop targeted training initiatives to address those needs.

● Training Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments to improve training outcomes.

● Training Content Development: Develop and maintain training content regularly, including training slides, aids etc, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference.

● Pilot Training Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams deploying pilots and regional mentors, to ensure alignment of pilot training plans with pilot objectives

● Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Product Development and other departments to ensure alignment of training programs with business objectives and product updates.

● Training Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to field staff and sales agents, addressing their training-related queries, challenges with the LMS etc. to ensure continuous improvement in performance.

● ZTM/RM Performance management: Onboard and provide ongoing coaching and support to Regional Mentors across the country, ensuring that the team meets their Key Performance Indicators.

● Training Compliance: Ensure compliance with all training-related regulations, policies, and procedures, including health and safety guidelines, data protection, and ethical practices.

● Training Reporting: Prepare regular training reports and analytics, highlighting key performance indicators, training outcomes, and recommendations for improvement to senior management.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources, Education), organizational development or equivalent experience.

● Experience in managing team

● Minimum 4-5 years of experience in training or instructional design, with at least 2-3 years in a management or leadership role, proven experience in training and development, preferably in the solar energy or renewable energy industry.

● Strong knowledge of training methodologies, instructional design principles, and adult learning theories.

● Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.

● Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

● Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate training effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

● Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

● Willingness to travel extensively within the country.


Added advantage:

Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and

Performance (CPLP), SHRM-CP, or ATD's Certified Professional in Talent

Development (CPTD) are beneficial.
