Job Summary
To provide health care to patients and continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to meet patient management goals. The overall responsibility will be restoration of a patient’s optimum health by performing health assessments, running diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, creating treatment plans, wellness advice to patients

Job Description/Requirements
The job holder’s duties and responsibilities are outlined as follow:
· Assess and manage patients.
· Give prescriptions to patients.
· Call for Doctor in cases with complications.
· Inform the Doctor in charge about cases where referral to other hospitals is considered.
· Call for the ambulance to be send where necessary.
· Return patient files to the reception.
· Ensure equipment’s/instruments at your disposal are in good working order.
· Ensure drugs such as TB drugs and ARVs are well stocked in appropriate places.
· Get updates from the pharmacy about the drugs in store and the stock balance.
· Carry out/attend ward rounds
· Instruct and/or inform nurses on procedures to follow in caring for patients in the ward.
· Instruct and/or alert other medical staff about the safety precautions to be taken especially during epidemic outbreaks.
· Assist in the treatment room.
· Keep statistics and patient records.
· Ensure confidentiality of patient records is maintained.
· Keep workstation clean.
· Have weekly meeting with the Medical Doctor and the hospital Administrator
· Prepare the required reports and hand them over to the Matron, Hospital Administrator, Doctor or the right authority depending with the requirement.
· Place order of drugs and kits in your station that are running out of stock or expiring.
· Health and Safety activities.
· Secure the instruments/equipment at your disposal.
· Any other job assigned.
Hygiene And Health And Safety
· Ensure all the people who report to you adhere to the health and safety instructions.
· Always wear PPE as provided by the company
· Report hazard or accidents to the company health and safety officer.
· Take part in health and safety activities when required
· Ensure compliance with quality standards, hygiene and accident prevention regulations.
Qualifications, Experience and Competence:
· A minimum of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine
· Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya
· Minimum of at least two years’ progressive experience as a Clinician
· Must possess a valid license.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication & customer care skills
· Relevant working experience an added advantage
· Ability to work with minimum supervision
· A good team player with good interpersonal and leadership skills.
· Excellent computer and communication skills
