Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities

Jointly with the leadership team drive company-wide strategy, growth, fundraising, product development, and community initiatives

Develop and manage high-level partnerships with conservation stakeholders, including conservancies, associations, and government entities.

Develop and lead conservation and anti-poaching strategy, planning, execution, and reporting.

Establish and maintain partnerships with hospitality and tour operators to drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.

Secure funding, sponsorships, and collaborations through conservation and commercial partnerships.

Design departmental structures and lead relevant teams, partners, and contractors.

Develop and manage functional budgets, ensuring accountability for commercial targets.


Requirements

Entrepreneurial spirit with experience in leading and building impactful businesses.

Proven track record in sales and commercial partnerships, including major donor cultivation and securing sponsorships.

Extensive networks and relationships with bilateral and multilateral agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders in wildlife conservation and tourism.

Experience in evaluating and negotiating complex agreements.

Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams in distributed environments.

Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in identifying and implementing solutions.

Relevant experience in conservation and wildlife management plans, preferably in Africa.

Understanding of political, social, and community structures in wildlife conservation and tourism.

Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences, including donors and board members.

Fluency in English (French advantageous).

Significant relevant experience and a Master’s degree (or PhD) in Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Conservation, Environmental Sciences, or related fields, complemented with a business background such as an MBA or business-related Executive Education


Remuneration 

Fixed and variable (performance-based) compensation.

Equity may be offered to the right candidate.


Location: Remote; based in Nairobi
